I shot this image the first time I got to visit the beautiful seaside town of Robe in South Australia. At first I was a little disappointed that it was a clear sky, I most often like to have the sun go down and throw colours onto the clouds. And then generally go for a bit of a longer exposure to get silky smooth water.
However on this occasion I had two things working against me and that was the clear sky, mixed with windy conditions. So I decided to shoot into the sun during the nice golden light, which gave an overall warmth to my image, I could stand a bit further back from the edgr so the choppy water wasn't too distracting, and I could get nice fast exposures to keep the shrubs in the foreground tack sharp.
It's super annoying when you have an image in mind that is not going to come together on a particular occasion because of things that are out of our control, but it's super satisfying to figure out a way around all these issues and come away with an image you're happy with.
I entitled this photo 'Where's Wally?'... can you find him?
