This shot was purely a result of opportunity. My fiancé and I were recently on a cruise going down the great barrier reef and one port of call was Airlie Beach, the hub to the Whitsundays. After spending the day ashore, on return to the ship I got out both my cameras anticipating some good light. What was delivered by the weather gods was beyond my wildest dreams. Golden light was being thrown everywhere!
After clicking away on my most used wide angle lens, I went for something different and got out my zoom/telephoto. I could see some more nice light flaring through mountains and I just knew it was going to make a great image. In a way, the strong orange glow to the left of frame really gives the impression of the mountains being on fire, looking angry.
